After I scraped the ceiling, I primed the walls and trim white. The next step was to take down the shelf that was too high above the dryer. It was such a pain to lift a heavy detergent container up and down from there. I was torn on what color to paint the room because the kitchen connected it Farrow & Ball , ball green. The walls and cabinets are the full formula and the trim and ceiling is half formula. The rest of the house is a grey by Benjamen Moore, Rodeo.
White was very appealing at first but I think I am growing out of the all white phase. Don't get me wrong I love my all white bathroom and white denim slipcovers but that's where I am drawing the line. I need to play with color. I mean I have a BFA in Art History and Painting, why play it safe?
I choose Palladian Blue 1/2 formula for the walls. My bedroom growing up was the same color and I adore this color. It is the perfect aqua, celedon combo. The room also faces the west so the afternoons get hot in there. The cool color is a perfect balance especially if you are ironing while the dryer is running.

After I painted the ceiling classic Benjamen Moore white, I painted the walls. Then I moved the desk I bought from Crate & Barrel into the room to leave bills and other things when we come inside. I put up some paintings I did this past semester and a couple mardi gras pics of Bo and his friends. The opposite wall now has a book shelf I filled with wine glasses.

This is the after of the Home Depot shelves I installed. (below)

This is another view of the pantry doors that I stained, Pecan.
